NASCAR racing fans aren't exactly short of a few options, from to, although there's not much difference between many of these choices if truth be told. NASCAR Racing 4 is another entry in the long-running series and once again it provides a solid, if less than revolutionary experience. This one ticks most of the usual boxes, with a variety of modes to try out, including the arcade mode for when you're not in the mood to worry about too much detail, and simulator mode when you've got your proper petrolhead on. Out on the track, it's the usual mix of real world tracks, including Daytona for the first time in the franchise's history, and when you're speeding around, you can call out to your pit crew before you come in, telling them what needs working on, while this installment also features an improved physics engine to make it more realistic than ever before, as well as much sharper visuals and audio to make the experience even more immersive.
As far as NASCAR games go, this is probably one of the best on the market. It's got a nice blend of features, making it a perfect choice for newcomers to this sort of racing and to veterans alike, thanks to the two modes on offer. The improved physics really does add a lot to the appeal, and it now feels about as authentic as you could hope for, and which is aided by the superb visuals. It does take a while to get used to the handling of the cars, but that's only to be expected and which only makes things even more rewarding. All in all, a top-notch NASCAR experience.
